Hi,
I created a database instance with alphanumeric characters which is running on a Windows 2000 server in my network. Now only i came to know that there is a server (SQL Server Database server) in the network with the same name as my oracle database instance name (but my oracle database host name is unique and different). Is this a problem?? Will this have any effect in any way?? Can anyone give me some advice about it???

Note: So far iam not having any problem...

As far as I know, if you are using sql*net or net8 then Oracle won't even know about the sql server database. Are you using ODBC?
