I am planning on getting oracle enterprise edition. there are named user, perpetual license and pure processor based license. the processor based is 40k and the named one works out cheaper. whats the major difference?

In addition, if i am buying enterprise 9i edition, do i still have to license some other stuffs like partitioning and stuff. in that case what all i have to license seperately?

please answer me this. i can award the points.

Look at the licensing tips at oraclestore.oracle.com. Named User license is much cheaper because it limits the number of users that are allowed/licensed to work with the Database. All depends on what you plan to use the server for.

As of the second question, Oracle 9i EE comes with most options ( see also http://www.oracle.com/ip/deploy/database/oracle9i/index.html?packagingandoptions.html)
